So wondering what others did prior to diagnosis (or post...) to self medicate?..
Over the last 16 years I've ended up having dabbled in several items ranging from lots of coffee and nicotine to Cocaine to Scotch and Absinthe. *on the illicit route, that was when I was just out of high school and I got very lucky as, though I enjoyed it way too much (and not just for the mental clarity), I never had to pay for the copious amounts I was doing and I was able to cold turkey after only 5 months... *
I have also been diagnosed with Cluster Headaches (which also impair focus... Like a meat grinder impairs a side of beef...) and found that the SSRIs they'd give me also had an increased focus effect however they are very easy for your body to become too used to and this loose effectiveness rapidly. I attest some of my more disappointing moods on them these days.
From an OTC stand point (I'm no longer a cigarette smoker) I've found vaping to be very beneficial. Nicotine is obviously very addictive however loose the carcinogens and it's also being regularly praised now for awesome medical purposes. In particular with Alzhimers patients as it stimulates memory growth in the brain. It's probably the most regular stimulate in my system next to caffeine. If you smoke and it helps you focus then try vaping. If you don't smoke, try vaping. You may just be surprised....
So I've shared........
